You would appreciate that in pursuance of the commitment made at the time of last membership verification, the management provided a platform to alll the unions in the form of a meeting held on 16.9.2010 to consider change in code of discipline, but unfortunately consensus could not emerge amongst all the unions for change in Code of discipline. As such, the management had no other option but to decide holding of membership verification according to the existing Code of discipline. In the said meeting, it was also assured that the demand of the unions for grant of trade union facilities to all the registered unions will be brought to the notice of management. 3. I would like to share with you that in pursuance of the meeting held on 16.9.2010, the issue has further been deliberated. In the absence of consensus amongst all the unions for change in Code of discipline, although the management side ruled that this membership verification shall take place according to the existing Code of discipline, yet it is felt that further efforts can be made to evolve consensus amongst all the unions, which is a long- drawn process, and also take into consideration the position prevalent in other PSUs. 4. Keeping this in mind, | would request you to withdraw your notice for the proposed demonstration on 30" September, 2010 and amicably participate in the membership verification whose results may influence consensus on the issue of change in Code of discipline.
