EXPERIMENT NO – 8

SOURCE FOLLOWER WITH BOOTSTRAPPED GATE RESISITANCE

8.1. AIM:

To construct a source follower bootstrapped gate resistance amplifier circuit and

to plot the frequency response characteristics.

8.2. THEORY:

8.5 APPARATUS REQUIRED:

S.No. Name Value / Range Quantity

1. Transistor
2. Resistors
3. Capacitors
4. Function Generator
5. CRO
6. Regulated Power Supply
7. Bread Board

8.6 PROCEDURE:

3
1. Give the connections as per the circuit diagram

2. Measure the DC biasing voltages at the FET terminals

3. Connect the Function Generator at the input and feed 1 K Hz signal

4. Using the CRO check the input and output signals & calculate Av

5. Vary the input signal from 100 Hz to 1 Mhz and note down the output

amplitude

6. Measure the input amplitude and calculate the gain and the frequency

response of the amplifier

7. Calculate gain=20 log (Vo / Vin.)

8. A graph is plotted between frequency and gain.

9. Measure Vac and Iac I ac at the input and output terminals and calculate

the input and output impedances Zi & Zo

10. Remove the Bootstrap connection and give the conventional voltage

divider bias

11. Measure once again Vac and Iac at the input and output terminals and

calculate the input and output impedances Zi & Zo without

bootstrapping

12. Compare the input and output impedance of both the circuits
