 THE NEED ANALYSIS OF AN ARCHITECT

1. Why is English needed?

- For work

2. How will English be used?

- Speaking and listening: for conversation, presentation and meetings, Writing: for
making reports of constructions, planning, etc.

3. What will the content areas be?

- Subject : Constructions, Architecture and Arts.
- Level : Intermediate (Technician)

4. Who will the learners use English with?

- Native speakers or non-native: expert, technicians, and mechanics
- In relation to Constructions, arts and architectures.

5. Where will the language be used?

- In the office and workshop: demonstration, meetings, and presentations (own country
or abroad)

6. When will the language be used?

- Frequently during the meetings, demonstrations, presentations (at office or workshop)

7. What does the learner want to get from the language?

- The learner wants to be able to communicate in English fluently and accurately with
the people (native or non-native speakers) in relation to the working necessity. He
also wants to be capable in writing report in English and understand any English
readers related to constructions, architecture and arts.
8. What is the learner’s lack of the language?
- The learner’s lack of English is in speaking. It is hard for the learner to speak fluently
and pronounce English words correctly.
9. What is the student needed of the language?
- He needs more practice in speaking and some exercises in writing reports.
10. What has the student known/learnt about the language?
- He has learnt English in high school and he is already able to understand English
readers in Elementary Level (for high school students).
11. Who is the learner?
- An Architect
- Male/22/Indonesian
- He can be categorized into the Elementary Level
- He is interested in arts and Architectures
- He is used to study by reading and audio-visual learning.
