Young Jewish, Christian and Muslim leaders

meet at inter-faith conference in Seville, Spain
JERUSALEM – Young professionals of the three monotheistic religions will gather in
Seville, Spain, next week for an inter-religious dialogue conference organized by the
Fundación Tres Culturas del Meditarraneo (Three Cultures Foundation of the
Mediterranean), and partner organizations including the World Jewish Diplomatic Corps,
which is an affiliate of the World Jewish Congress. The conference will be held on 19 and
20 October 2010 at the Pabellón Hassan II.
About 60 young leaders aged between 26 and 40 representing Jewish, Christian and Muslim
organizations or communities will take part in the forum. They will seek to establish a common
platform, discuss concrete projects and forms of cooperation between faith-based organizations,
and develop best practices in the field of inter-religious dialogue. The conference will also serve as a
way of improving and developing frameworks for monitoring and preventing anti-Semitism,
Islamophobia, racism, xenophobia and other forms of intolerance.
The participants will discuss the functions, rights and responsibilities of religious bodies in a society
where religion is often perceived as the embodiment of fundamentalism.
The World Jewish Diplomatic Corps’ mission is to promote growing inter-religious dialogue, mutual
understanding and cooperation.
