We,as teachers, give messages both verbally and non-verbally. What’s

important is that we should be aware of non-verbal messages to control
classroom and to communicate with students affectively. For
instance,posture is an important matter for classroom management. To
illustrate, a teacher who look confident will be more successful than the
other ones and s/he will be able to set the rules in class easily.

As a teacher, ı should have such a posture that it should send a non-verbal

message to students in which it says ım the BOSS and the authority in
class.However,they should also know that ‘ı will be respectful to all whatever
you say’. As entrance is a way of impressing them, a teacher should have an
affective entrance to the class especially for a good first impression. Fırst
impression will never change. As a result, if ı want to get the control of the
class,ı should have such an entrance that they will know they have no
chance to abuse the lesson. So, ım thinking of entering to my first class fast
which ı believe it shows the strength. Besides, walking into class fast and
talking to them with a smiling face will send a message to students ‘ I’m
both the boss and friend of you in this class. On the other hand, ı believe
that ı should stand in the center of the class,which means ‘ım in the center
of you and so ım here for you’. Standing in class instead of sitting has much
more power and affect on students. Not forgetting this, ı should stand to be
able to control the class.
