WRITEUP FOR PAINTERS

A Painter works in houses, offices, rest houses of department and commercial and
industrial buildings. He carries following type of works:

1. Painting of buildings of offices, rest houses of department.

2. Industrial equipments.

For carrying out these works he requires the following tools, material :

1. Brushes of different sizes like 1” to 5” wide.

2. Kalams (writing brush) for writing like 1,2,6,7,8,10 number.
3. Sand papers of different sizes. It may be for wood, steel or 400 number water
proof paper of different sizes like 120,140,150,300 or 400 number.
4. Tools like Plier, screw driver, hammer, scraper.
5. Yellow and white clay, tricot for making filter material for woodwork and ready
made filter material for steel work.
6. Lac millets and spirit for making sprit polish to do on wood works.
7. Scale, pencil, chalk for measuring and marking line or mark.
8. There are different type of paints like enamel paint, CA-50 (Black), Red-lead,
Auto paint, Deco paint, Hammer paint and aluminum paint, Primer (Red oxide) is
also required.
9. Paint gun with different nozzles and air pressure source for spray painting.
10. Thinner required to make paint thin so as it can easily spread and even for
cleaning cloths and hands.
11. For a painter he should know type of paints and ideality of different type of paints
as per surface to be painted. He should have knowledge of using brush size
according to the job requirement. Enamel paints are used in power house for
painting water pipe, oil pipe, Air pipe, fire hydrant etc.
CA-50 paint is for water gate, strolgauge, stay, pumping and sewerage pipes.
Red lead is used for Guide pin, runner, parts immerged in water.
He should know colour and shade formation scheme like:
B+W= Grey, B+R=Brown, W-Y=Pale cream, B+Y=G, R+Y=O etc.
He should know about primary colours like R,Y,B.
Deco paint is required for spray painting of panels and equipments.
Hammer paint can also be used for requirements.
He should know about type of surface, how to furnish it and which type of paint
is required. How it can be carried, whether spray painting is required for with
brush and what size is required.
Red oxide (Primer) is used to make material rust free. Moreover actual paint is
consumed less.
