The ICE London Project: The manufacturing process of
the new ICE 3 trains has started

The new ICE 3 (class 407)

 DB will use the new ICE 3, these trains


are already fitted will basic technical
features for services to London (final
equipment pending on IGC report)

manufacturing by Siemens in Germany

most recent European Safety

ICE London Project: DB participates constructively in the
advancement of the Channel Tunnel regulations

 The Channel Tunnel regulations are under revision in a


ICE Test Runs Channel Tunnel standard process as they are basically unchanged for
[13th-17th Oct] almost 20 years
 Now technology has evolved significantly – the new
ICE 3 (class 407) will be the most modern high-speed
train in Europe, built according to the latest safety
standards
 DB is ready to invest a multi-million Euro amount to
further adapt the trains to achieve optimal interoperability
with the safety infrastructure of the Channel Tunnel
 In consultation with the authorities and Eurotunnel;
DB will draw up an elaborated safety concept for the ICE
 First tests show feasibility of safe evacuation processes
of 200 meter long and coupled trains with distributed
traction
