Project Description:

In this project, you will demonstrate your understanding of algebra, by creating a

booklet, a foldable, or a poster presentation, which includes the following two parts:

Part 1

Explain what it means to translate words into expressions or equations, evaluate

expressions, and solve equations. Use various examples, including step-by-step
explanations!

Part 2

1. Create a scenario.

Example:
How much did he spend?

2. Translate this into an algebraic expression.

Example:
3c + 5 where n equals the cost of a bag of chips.

3. Give a specific value.

Example:
Joe went to the store and bought 3 bags of chips and $5 worth of candy. In total he
spent $11.

4. Translate this into an equation.

Example:
3c + 5 = 11

5. Solve the equation! Find the value of the variable. How much did Joe spend?
