PART A
Q.1: Determine the forces in all the members of the truss shown in Fig.
and indicate the magnitude and nature of forces on the diagram of the
truss. All inclined members are at 60° to horizontal and length of each
member is 2 m.

Q.2: Determine the forces in all the members of the frames shown in
Fig. Indicate the nature of force also. (Tension as +ve and compression
as –ve). Use method of section method.
Q.3: Find the forces bye using both methods in all the members of the
frames shown in Fig. indicates the nature of force also.

PART B
Q.4: A train is uniformly accelerated and passes successive kilometer
stones with velocities of 18 km.p.h. and 36 km.p.h. respectively.
Calculate the velocity, when it passes the third kilometer stone. Also
find the time taken for each of these two intervals of one kilometer.

Q.5: A bullet moving at the rate of 300 m/s is fired into a thick target
and penetrates up to 500 mm. If it is fired into a 250 mm thick target,
find the velocity of emergence. Take the resistance to be uniform in both
the cases.
Q.6: When a cyclist is riding towards west at 30 km per hour, he finds
the rain meeting at an angle of 45° with the vertical. When he rides at 12
km per hour, he meets the rain at an angle of 30° with the vertical. What
is the actual velocity, in magnitude and direction, of the rain?

Q.7: The motion of a particle is given by;

Where (a) is the acceleration in

And (t) is the time in seconds. The velocity of the particle at t=1 second
is 6.25 m/sec and displacement is 8.8 meters. Calculate the displacement
and velocity at t= 2 seconds.
