GUIDELINES FOR TRANSLATION

GENERAL
1. Source content (English) will be sent to translators in word format (A page of En-
glish source content means, content provided in word format in Times New Ro-
man; Font size: 12; Single line spacing; 1x1x1x1 inches page margins)
2. The translated content should be sent to us in soft form (typed using Unicode
fonts, specified by InDG team)
3. The content will be related to the subjects Agriculture (including Animal Hus-
bandry and Fisheries), Education, Health, e-Governance, Social Welfare and Ru-
ral Energy
4. Translator should keep in mind that the target audience are the rural people
5. The language used should be simple. Translate the matter in such a way, so that
proper meaning comes in respective language and portal users able to understand
that information easily
6. Long sentences can be split to short ones for easy understanding
7. Literal translation or word by word translation is to be avoided
8. Locally used words are to be utilized wherever possible
9. In all the above, it should be ensured that the translated material conveys the
meaning of the source content without distortion.

PAYMENT DETAILS
 Remuneration will be Rs 125/- per page of English source content
