In this cartoon I think the depiction of the effect the civil war had on other nations is very apparent.

The
image of the two men fighting in the cotton store shows that because of the civil war people were still
fighting amongst each other who is better the North or the South, A conflict that still remains today. It
also shows how the Indian cotton store is willing to make a profit from the fighting of the two white
men. I believe it shows how the civil war shaped domestic economic change by portraying the rich
buying from the poor and the poor fighting over who is going to make a profit even though the cotton
more than likely came from the same place. It also shows that the Indians and others were willing and
even eager to make a profit off of someone else’s conflicts. Other than the cotton industry many things
were changed by the civil war. Slaves were freed, Women finally had rights all be it somewhat limited
but they still had rights, people were expanding into other places. More chances for work was opening
religions were expanding and opening to other beliefs, Leaders were chosen that did wonderful things
for our country. However it divided the North and South permanently, There will always be some kind of
conflict between them.
