Step 1: Starting setup

Start CD1 and run the setup file “install/Win32/setup.exe” and proceed with the steps:
Step 2: Welcome screen

Simple click the “Next” button

Step 3: Set installation directory

You can change the installation directory or leave it as it is. Click “Next” to proceed.
Step 4: Select Product type

Select the product type. I left it as it is. Click the “Next” button.
Step 5: Select Installation type

For learning purposes, Personal edition is more suitable. But for enterprise needs, you can change the
type of installation.
Step 6: Database configuration

Leave the configuration to “General Purpose” and click “Next”.

Step 7: Database identification

Name the global database. I named it as “db”. You can specify any other you want. Click “Next” then.
Step 8: Select database file location

You can change it or leave it as default. Click “Next” then.

Step 9: Select database character set

If you want to store languages like Urdu or Arabic then change the type to “UTF8” otherwise leave it as
default. Click “Next” then.
Step 10: Finalize installation

Verify the information inserted and click “Install” to start the installation process.
Step 11: Installing software

Wait for the installation to finish…

Step 12: Configuration

Click “Next” leaving the configuration to as it is

Step 13: End of installation

If “Finish” button is there, click that or click “Next Install” to end it.
You’re done with it. Oracle is now installed on your
computer…
