2. Before Power ON of Node B , Ensure the following :-

(a) TRCU power cable is connected to 32 Amps MCB .

(b) D2U shelf Power cable is connected to 10 Amps MCB.

(c) Grounding of Node B is connected to IGB (refer to

installation).

(d) Check the Voltage with multimeter at Node B end .

Data and software requirements:

a. Laptop with Windows XP with Internet explorer or mozilla

b. Cross LAN Cable

 c. Alcatel Node-B commissioning doc

d. Java6 update5

e. Node-B software UNB06D00205

f. IP sheet

3. Connecting Laptop Locally to NODE B .

(a) Cross LAN Cable is Required

(b) Java should be Installed in the Laptop (set up file is

attached)

(c) Change the IP Address of Laptop , As given Below

Connect to the TIL Port ( Port 1 of XCCM Card) .

Go to Internet Explorer and open the U

And following Window will appear

Put your name and Default Path where you want to save all
Commissioning Reports .

And Following Board Screen will Appear

 Upgrade the Node B Software to “ UNB06D00205”

4. Software Upgrade Procedure

Go to the Tools then Software upgrade then New software
download , As shown below

Below Window will appear

Just show the Path where you have kept UNB06D00205 software
and Select FILE0_UNDB06D00205 , As shown Below
And Click “Choose a Delievery File “:

“ This will take 15 minutes”

5. Activating New Software Release
 Close the Connection ( Internet Explorer) and Reconnect . Once
reconnected the new software will have username and password.

Username: nodeb

Password: nodeblnx

6. Procedure for Change of I&C Parameters (PCM , IP Address and

IMA)

(a) Before making Changes , Save I&C Parameters

 Save with name “OLD I&C site name”.

(b) Now Change I&C Parameters , only (PCM , IP Address and

IMA)
PCM Modification:

Change PCM E1 Frame to Automatic Multiframe

IP Modification:
Reference:

Existence of a DHCP Server = NO

BTS IP address = 10.136.110.XX (get from excel sheet)

OMC-B IP address =

10.136.130.164

OMC-B Port = 6301

OMC-B VP identifier = 1

OMC-B VC identifier = 32

Subnetwork Mask =

255.255.255.0
BTS Port = 6301

IMA Modification:

Choose PCM&IMA Tab

Select IMA

SENDING CHANGES OF I&C PARAMETERS TO NODEB

Press Send to IBTS

Change in progress (20secs)

Success Message

SAVE CHANGES IN I&C PARAMETERS

Select Save I&C parameters

Change file name to “new_sitename.til”, press save

RESET NodeB (to activate changes in I&C parameters)

 Reset in connected Mode

Confirm reset window

Note: NodeB will reset for approximately 5 mins.

Reconnect to BTS

7. MCA Backup File

Confirmation that MCA file created on CCM
Confirmation that MCA file copied on default directory
8. Global Inventory File

Go to Files Global Inventory File

Save
 File will be saved on default path

END OF COMMISSIONING

IMPORTANT!!!!

After successful commissioning send a email to ALCATEL attaching

the following files and information:

1. Site Name and Address.

2. Software Successfully upgraded to UNB06D00205 – (YES/ NO)

3. Global Inventory File

4. New I&C Parameter File

5. MCA File
