Детский международный фестиваль
(Внеклассное мероприятие для учащихся 8-9 классов).
Цель: формировать у школьников потребность к изучению иностранного языка.
Задачи: Развивать способности к догадке, к сравнению и сопоставлению,
формулированию выводов
2) Учить навыкам актёрского мастерства, выразительности чтения и правильному
произношению
3) Воспитывать уважительное отношение к другим языкам.
Вступление.
Дорогие участники и гости нашего детского международного фестиваля! Мы рады
приветствовать вас. В течение нашей встречи мы увидим, как важно взаимопонимание
между людьми, даже если они говорят на разных языках.
Давайте представим, что здесь встретились ребята из России, Германии и Великобритании,
которые хотят познакомиться и понять друг друга.
Student 2:Hello! Ich heisse Martin. Ich komme aus Osterreich. (слайд 3)
Student 4: Guten Morgen! Ich bin Lina. Ich komme aus Deutschland. (слайд5)
Teacher 1: OK. Thank you. Dear boys and girls! Dear guests! We are glad to see you here today.
Аll students in our school learn foreign languages. And I’m sure it is great, because while learning
English or German you find out many new interesting facts about culture of these countries. Learn
the names of the famous writers and their works. You become more educated person.
Teacher 2: Each country has its own holidays and celebrations. There is one holiday in September
which is celebrated in all European countries. Do you know the name of this holiday? I hope that
those letters on the screen will help you. The first word is done for you:

On the board you can see some quotations. I hope they express the main idea of our meeting and

Двадцать шестой сентябрьский день объявили Европейским днем языков в 2001 году.
Кстати, этот год был назван годом языков. Для чего был придуман такой праздник?
Сегодня все более людей выбирают для изучения не один иностранный язык. Современный
мир требует от человека умение свободно говорить с представителями разных стран.

Teacher 1: The main aims of the European Day of Languages are to raise awareness of the rich
linguistic diversity of Europe and to encourage people to learn more languages. Did you know the
following facts? (Слайд11)
• Many Europeans think the most people speak only one language, but in actual fact at least
half of the world’s population are bilingual or multilingual, i.e. they speak two or more
languages.
• Languages are related to each other like the members of a family. Most European languages
belong to the large Indo-European family.(древо)
• Most European languages belong to three broad groups: Germanic, Romance and Slavic.
• The Germanic family of languages includes Danish, Norwegian, Swedish, Icelandic,
German, Dutch, English and Yiddish, among others.
• The Romance languages include Italian, French, Spanish, Portuguese and Romanian, among
others.
• The Slavic languages include Russian, Ukrainian, Belarusian, Polish, Czech, Slovak,
Slovenian, Serbian, Croatian, Macedonian, Bulgarian and others.
• Most European languages use the Latin alphabet. Some Slavic languages use the Cyrillic
alphabet. Greek, Armenian, Georgian and Yiddish have their own alphabet.
Student 5: Deutsch (Muttersprache) für die Bevölkerung von Deutschland, den aktivsten in beide
die muttersprachlicher Übersee Europa, Zwölfter in der Welt. Deutsch wird von über 100 Millionen
Menschen gesprochen. Er gehörte zu einer deutschen Gruppe der indoeuropäischen Sprachen. Unter
diesem Zweig der deutschen Sprache ist nah an der Skandinavisch, Dänisch, Norwegisch und
Schwedisch, und Niederländisch und Flämisch (Niederländisch), in gewissem Maße durch die
Engländer. Eine gemeinsame Sprache für die deutschen begann Übersetzung der Bibel, und
Anbetung in deutschen Mönch-Avgustincem Martin Luther am Anfang der XVI c. auf der
Grundlage der gesamten deutschen es dauerte sächsischen Dialekt, die am häufigsten in den
Bundesländern.
Student 6: English is the dominant language in world media and communications. Every seven
people in the world speak English, now it has become “new Latin” of the century. English is so
widespread that it has become the standard language for all kinds of international communication. It
is also the language of businesspeople, diplomats and politicians, scientists and students. English is
also one of the working languages in the United Nations.
Student 7: Many people believe that the English language is rather an easy language to learn
because it doesn’t have such a difficult grammar as modern Russian, German or Greek.
But it is true only by half. One shouldn’t forget the problems of English spelling, pronunciation and
prepositions; there are many exceptions to every rule; English has the largest vocabulary in the
world: there are 500 000 words and 300 000 technical terms in it.
If you know English, you can talk to people of any nationality, and can get necessary information
anywhere in the world.

Author: A Swiss man, who has lost his way, pulls up at a bus stop where
two Americans are waiting.
Swiss man:” Entchuldigung, koennen Sie Deutsch sprechen?”
Author: The two Americans just stare at him.
Swiss man:” Excusez- moi, palez vous Français?”
Author: The two continue to stare.
Swiss man: “Parla Italiano?”
Author: No response.
Swiss man:” Hablan ustedes Espand?”
Author: Still nothing. The Swiss man drives off, disappointed. The first American turns to the
second and says:
American 1: “You know, may be we should learn a foreign language.”
American 2:” Why? That guy knew four languages, and it didn’t do him any good.”
Teacher 2: Have a look at a survey of the language skills of European citizens, and their attitudes
towards language learning. (слайд 12)
• 47% of people in the European Union can speak no language other than their mother tongue.
• 26% of people in the European Union can speak at least two languages other than their
mother tongue.
• The language most spoken as a mother tongue in the European Union is German (23% of
the population).
• English, French and Italian are each spoken by about 16% of the European Union
population.
• 72% of people in the European Union believe knowing foreign languages is useful.
• 22% Europeans do not study languages because they believe they are "not good" at them.
• 74% of parents think speaking foreign languages will improve their children’s career
prospects.
• 93% of parents say it is important that their children learn other European languages.
Teacher 1: Do you know what a polyglot is? Was bedeutet das Wort “POLIGLOT”?

Teacher 2: До сих пор никто точно не установил, каким же количеством языков человек
может овладеть. Достоверно лишь одно: на протяжении всей истории человеческой
находились люди, которые могли в разной степени изъясняться не только на родном языке,
но и на нескольких (или многих) иностранных.
Student 6: Heinrich Schliemann is the German archeologist who discovered Troy. He was a polyglot,
too. He could speak many different languages. He taught himself to speak and write English, French,
Dutch, Spanish, Italian and Portuguese in two years. After that, he taught himself Russian in six
weeks. Later, he learned Swedish, Polish, Latin, Arabic and Greek.
Teacher 1: How do you think he learned languages? Wie meinen sie ,wie hat er Fremdsprachen

Teacher 2: Are you a good language learner? Lernen sie die Fremdsprachen gern?
2. While reading a text you see a word you don't know. Do you:
a. guess the meaning?
b. look it up in a dictionary?
с go on reading?
3. You find a new grammar point. Do you:
a. try to perform the grammatical rule?
b. read about it in your "Grammar support"?
c. ignore it?
4. You hear a word you don't understand. Do you:
a. try to guess the meaning?
b. ask the person for explanation?
c.ignore it?
Teacher 2: Now count your score. Give yourself 2p. for an a,1p. for a b, and no points for a c.
0-6 You work fast and you can learn fast but you could learn faster. You are missing some
opportunities to practise English. Work slower, and revise as often as you can. You should work
more carefully and thoughtfully.
7-13 Good. You learn languages well. You work carefully and study hard. But you can do even
better. Learn from your mistakes.
14-20 Excellent! You learn languages easily and well. You speak, listen and write very carefully. You
speak clearly and try extremely hard to practise English whenever you can. Well done!
Teacher 1: You study English and German at school. So, why study foreign languages? Worum
lernen sie Fremdsprachen? Give your reasons. (Ответы учащихся)
Teacher 2: You’ll understand foreign people, and what is happening around you, much better if
you know some of their own language. Read on for some good advice! (слайд 13)
– Even if it’s only a few words, you’ll get a warmer welcome when you travel on holiday or
business.
– And if you persevere, you’ll find new doors opening all the time: you’ll meet new people and new
ways of thinking, perhaps improve your career prospects. And you’ll get a real feeling of
achievement.
– What is more, Europe is a great place to learn languages, with so many language communities and
so many cultures living close together.
– Remember that learning a new language also means learning to understand other ways of thinking
and doing things.
– Making mistakes is part of learning a language and people will make allowances, so don’t worry.
– Learning a language is enjoyable, but if you want to succeed you need to be motivated. The more
active you are, the more successful you will be.
Teacher1: English has many words which have been borrowed from other languages. Can you
guess where the following words come from? Match the word and the language.

Teacher 2: The European Day of Languages has a wide variety of aims, in particular: promoting
the rich linguistic and cultural diversity of Europe, which must be preserved and fostered;
encouraging lifelong language learning in and out of school, whether for study purposes, for
professional needs, for the purposes of mobility or just for pleasure and exchanges.
Teacher 1: You have much to do in future. And I think all of you will learn foreign languages with
great interest and it will help you to be successful. Run towards new adventures. Learn new
languages! Let this be one of your aims. Now
