The objective is to study speeches using Bale¶s system and analyze the resultant information to
find out the characteristics of effective oral communication and to find out the usefulness of
Bales¶ system in understanding the speeches.



Speeches of leaders have been used to provide vision and motivation to the followers either in
business or society. The scope of this field exercise is to define characteristics of effective speech
and demonstrate the application of this understanding in drafting an effective speech and
communication. In the process we intend to measure the usefulness of Bales¶ system in
analyzing oral communication.

 
1.c Collect various speeches from available sources.

2.c Decide on a few speeches to be analyzed.

3.c Analyze the speeches with help of Bales¶ system.

4.c Based on the analysis we will draw conclusions about characteristics of effective speech.

5.c We will present our speech to independent audience and compare the opinions of the
audience with our conclusions drawn on the basis of Bales¶ system.

6.c To find out the effectiveness of bales¶ system itself
