These indefinite pronouns/ Questi pronomi indefiniti

a. are always singular/ sono sempre singolari, anche nel caso che in italiano abbiano significato plurale.

Avete tutti il libro? Has everybody the book?

b. are never followed by the preposition of/ non aono mai seguiti dalla preposizione of.

Lei ha qualcosa di importante da dirmi. She has something important to tell me.

Else
the English adverb else is used after/ l’avverbio else (=altro) è usato:

a. after the compounds of some, any, no, every/ dopo i composti di some, any, no, every.

Non c’è nient’altro da fare. There is nothing else to do.

b. after much and little / dopo much e little.

Non ho molto altro da aggiungere. I don’t have much else to add.

c. after the interrogative words who, what, where, how/ dopo le parole interrogative who, what, where,
how.

Cos’altro dobbiamo fare? What else shall we do?

Chi altro è venuto? Who else came?

Everybody, Somebody, Anybody, And Nobody

This is a little story about four people named Everybody, Somebody, Anybody, and Nobody.
There was an important job to be done and Everybody was sure that Somebody would do it.
Anybody could have done it, but Nobody did it.
Somebody got angry about that because it was Everybody's job.
Everybody thought that Anybody could do it, but Nobody realized that Everybody wouldn't
do it.
It ended up that Everybody blamed Somebody when Nobody did what Anybody could have
done
