Injury severity includes incapacitating, non-incapacitating and


possible injury. Two pedestrians and one motorcyclist excluded from above.

Crashes Fatalities & Injuries

The Thanksgiving Holiday period in 2009 was a total of 102 hours which began at 6 p.m. on Wednes-
day, November 25 and ended at midnight on Sunday, November 29. During this time period there
were seven persons killed in seven fatal crashes. One of the seven fatalities occurred in an alcohol-
related crash.

Fatalities & Safety Equipment

Of the seven fatalities, four were occupants in a passenger vehicle/pickup truck, one was a motorcyclist
and two were pedestrians. Two of the vehicle occupant fatalities were unrestrained and restraint was
unknown for one occupant.

The motorcyclist fatality was wearing a safety helmet.
