How to Install MiKTeX & TeXnicCenter

1 MiKTeX

Open the web page clicking on MiKTeX. Then click on download MiKTeX and install
the Basic MiKTeX version as shown in figure 1.
After installing it click on Program Files→Maintenance→Settings, as in figure 2.
In the Options box choose Packages, then click on Change in the “Package repository”
and click on “Packages shall be installed from the Internet”, as shown in figure 3.
Choose any option showing the country where you currently are, in the Change
Package Repository box . Figure 4 shows an example of this step.
Now, click on “Start Package Manager”, then on Edit→Select Installable Packages
as shown in figure 5.
After that click on Task→Install as shown in figure 6. The installation may take a
while so be patient.

2 TeXnicCenter

Open the web page clicking on TeXnicCenter. Then click on “Download” and then on
TeXnicCenter Installer as shown in figure 6.
After installing it click on Program Files→TeXnicCenter→TeXnicCenter, as in figure
7.
Now, close the tips and begin the configuration wizard where you will see a box as
in figure 8.
Follow the default options until you see the Distribition Directory as appeared in
figure 9.
Click on the little box which follows the path directory space and select the Program

Files folder. Then you must do double click in the ”MiKTeX” folder as appeared in figure
10.
After that you click twice in the ”miktex” folder as shown in figure 11.
Then you have to click just once over the ”bin” folder, as in figure 12, and then click
OK.
After that you will see the Distribution Directory box as in figure 13.
Then you follow the default options until the wizard configuration finishes. After
clicking OK the screen will look like the figure 14. You have to click on the output profile
and change the selection from LaTeX ⇒ DVI to LaTeX ⇒ PDF as shown in figure 13.
Now it is ready to be used. Open a new file, copy the template and run it.
