California Avenue
Project & Traffic Study Update
For Immediate Release: Wednesday, December 1, 2010
The City is holding a community meeting to provide an update on the proposed California
Avenue – Transit Hub Corridor Project. The project, located between El Camino Real and the
Caltrain Station, includes streetscape improvements such as new community identity markers;
traffic calming treatments such as raised table crosswalks and bulb‐outs, enhanced on‐street
parking facilities; bicycle parking improvements; and community‐focused improvements at the
California Avenue – Caltrain Plaza.
The project also includes a proposed 4‐lane to 2‐lane reduction on California Avenue. At the
meeting, the results of a traffic study that analyze the effects of the proposed lane reduction
will be presented.
