Need to Have:
5.5mm crochet hook
Double knitting wool – each hat is worked with two
strands held together and takes approx 100gs
For this hat you will need two colours.

Need to Know:
ch – chain
st - stitch
slst – slip stitch
dc – double crochet
htc – half treble crochet
tc – treble crochet
Need to Do:

Crown
ch 4, slst into 1st to form a ring

ch 2, (does not count as 1st tr here or for the rest of

the pattern), 12 tc into ring, slst into 1st tc to join

ch 2, 2 tc in same st, 2 tc in each tc around, slst into

1st tc to join

ch 2, tc in same st, * 2 tc in next st, 1 tc in next st,

rep from * to last st, 2 tc, slst into 1st tc to join

ch 2, tc in same st, 1 tc, * 2 tc in next st, 1 tc, 1 tc,

rep from * to last st, 2 tc, slst into 1st tc to join

ch 2, tc in same st, 1 tc, 1 tc, * 2 tc in next st, 1 tc,

1 tc, 1tc, rep from * to last st, 2 tc, slst into 1st tc
to join

ch 1, 1 dc in each st around, slst into 1st dc to join

Body
Row 1 - ch 1, dc in same st, 9 dc, 5 htc, 30 tc, 5 htc,
10 dc, slst into 1st dc to join

Row 2 – repeat row 1

Row 3 – repeat row 1

Change colour
Row 4 – ch 2, tc in same st, 9 tc, 5 htc, 30 dc, 5 htc,
10 tc, slst into 1st tc to join

Row 5 – repeat row 4

Row 6 – repeat row 4

Change colour
Row 7 – repeat row 1
Row 8 – repeat row 1
Row 9 – repeat row 1
Fasten off
Brim
count 10 sts to the right of the last st join in yarn.

Row 1 – ch 1, dc in same st, 5 dc, 1 htc, 6 tc, 1 htc, 6

dc, turn

Row 2 – skip 1st st, ch 2, 4 htc, 10 tc, 4 htc, leave last

st unworked, turn

Row 3 – ch 2, 3 htc, 12 tc, 3 htc, fasten off.

Sew in ends and you're finished.
