Of the candidates that SDWNY endorsed, 7 won their election, 3 lost and 1 undecided.
Therefore Marriage Eguality has gained some support and lost some as well.
If you have not already, ask Senator Gillabrand and Schumer to continue their efforts to repeal
Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell.
County Legislature downsizing discussed – impact on the city and our community is not yet fully
understood.
Kitty spoke about the Marriage Equality Day on Tuesday, February, 8, 2011. There will be three
buses going to Albany to take WNYers to lobby senators. If you can’t go, please consider
sponsoring someone else by paying the registration fee of $40. Or you can contribute food to help
feed the travelers on the bus. T-shirts in the colors of the rainbow will be provided based on your
senate district. Looking for support from the Jamestown and Fredonia area so if you know
someone please suggest going to www.MENY.us
It was acknowledged that the event in Delaware Park Rose Garden for suicide victims was a big
success with good media coverage thanks to Kitty Lambert and others. The rally at Ellicott
Square was also a success. Bryan Ball was also acknowledged for speaking at the Erie County
Democratic Committee’s reorg meeting, where he was able to speak about our issues.
Need nominating committee for SDWNY – Melissa Breckenridge and Kendra Konst agreed and
Carol Speser is going to be asked.
For plans for 2011 – committee responsibilities will be reexamined. Committees to determine
how to handle future endorsements in regards to questionnaire requirements and Illuzi website
advertising.
Next meeting December 28th at 7pm. 8:25 pm – Kitty Lambert motions, Bruce Kogan seconds,
meeting is adjourned.
