One day as the lion was stalking through the forest, he became caught in the net of his old enemy, man. Afraid for his life he roared plaintively, crying out for someone to help him. The mouse who was nearby, heard his roar. He went towards it and there he saw the lion tangled up in the net. ‘Don't worry,’ he said 'T'll soon get you out of there. And he began to cut through the net with his sharp teeth. Eventually he had bitten through the net and the lion fell out. ‘Oh thank you. I was wrong I never thought someone as small as you could ever help someone as big as me. You have saved my life.’ And so they parted company, each returning to his part of the forest.
