OBSERVULATOR 1000

USE: Imagine all of our interactions as based on four complimentary processes: perception, reaction, reflection, and intention. Picture these
processes as manifesting in the context of particular contexts: attitude, event, place, time, thing, reason, person or process. The
OBSERVULATOR 1000 enables the chance selection of specific combinations of processes and contexts within your daily activities, and to
document your chance observations using a fortuitous form of expression.
ASSEMBLY: 1) Cut along dotted line, 2) Fold square in half with text on inside. 3) Fold a second time (into fourths). 4) Open and turn upside
down; folds are facing away from you. 5) Fold on corner and place the tip right in the centre of the paper. 6) Carefully fold in each corner exactly
to the centre and smooth out the seams tightly. 7) Turn folded paper over so folds face downward. 8) Bring corners in to centre. 9) Smooth out
creases firmly. 10) Fold paper again in half, then in quarters, pressing creases firmly. 11) Unfold the last four corners. 12) Hold the paper so that
the single layer folds are up. 13) Slide four fingers under loose flaps and bring the corners in to the centre. You should be able to press two
fingers together while pulling two away and so on. Look familiar? 14) Pick a process (perception, reflection, reaction, intention) and press/pull a
serendipitous number of times. 15) Pick a context (attitude, event, thing, etc) and press/pull an unlikely number of times. 16) Lift any available
flap and pick a surprise medium of expression. 17) Observe your <process> in relation to <context>, rendering the results as an <expression>.
