Brand Wars

Rules & Regulations

1. A team must comprise of maximum 4 and minimum 2 members.


2. There will 4 pools with 4 teams, making a total of 16 teams.
3. Limitation of 4 teams from LUMS.
4. Case studies shall be released to the teams 5 days before the competition for
round 1 of the competition.
5. The case studies will be accompanied by a strict set of rules along with
guidelines which will inform the teams of the deliverables and requirements
from the presentations.
6. Primary and Secondary research is allowed for case analysis.
7. On the event day new information as a supplement to the case study shall be
given for analysis.
8. 6 hours shall be allotted for final analysis inclusive of new information and
presentation preparation.
9. Each team will have 20minutes for presentation and 10 minutes for the Q&A
by the Judges.
10. All team members must present.
11. Each pool shall be evaluated by 2 judges.
12. 4 teams shall emerge as winners on the decision of the judges from the first
round of competition.
13. Decision of judges stands final and cannot be appealed
14. Second round of the competition is a quiz competition on International
Marketing and Branding.
15. The quiz competition is a rapid fire of 25 questions.
16. A single representative from each team shall participate in this round.
17. Team members cannot not hint or prompt the representative team member
(any such action can result in disqualification of the team)
18. In event of a tie amongst teams there will be a tie breaker round of 5
questions.
19. A panel of 3 judges shall be present for the competition.
20. Judges decision shall stand final.
21. The winner of the round 2 shall emerge as the winner of the BW 2011.

Registration
1. Registration opens on February 1, 2011.
2. Registration fee is PKR 1500 per team member.
3. Registration fee includes participation in Brand Wars Competition;
Colloquium Sessions; Networking Opportunities including all meals; and On
Campus Accommodation for all outstation participants.
4. Payments can be made via cash or cheques made in favor of “Lahore
University of Management Sciences”.
