In “Harrison Bergeron,” Gatteca, and Anthem the main characters have

similar out looks on life, they determine their own fate by doing what they believe in

no matter what. You know how when you just can’t wait to be legal so u can do

what you want to do and whenever you want to do it? In these very similar stories

that is taken from them. Society says that they do what they are told. Even if what

they’re told is unspoken. Harrison Bergeron tries to take over, Vincent, who

becomes Jerome, commits fraud, and equality broke away from his brothers. All

three of these males have something in common; they are loyal to their selves

instead of to society.

Harrison, a fourteen year old boy, wasn’t like the rest of society. He had

heavier handicap bags than everyone else. He was smarter. He had scraps of metal

on him. He was stronger. He had glasses, a clown nose, and caps on his teeth. He

was better looking. He was everything society frowned upon. He was considered

“abnormal”(pg.) but in all actuality he was superior to the rest of society.
