RE DEFENDANT JOSHUA KOMISARJEVKSY’S MOTION
REGARDING RESERVED SEATING
Following a hearing on the above-entitled motion, the court issues the following orders
‘with respects to seating in Courtroom 6A during the proceedings of this case:
1. The first row on each side of the courtroom (in front of the bat) is reserved for the use
of counsel and their staff members.
2. The second and third rows on the north side of the courtroom (on the side of the jury
box) are reserved for members of the Petit family,
3. The second row on the south side of the courtroom is reserved for members of the
Komisarjevsky family. If menabers of the Komisatjevsky family do not occupy this entire row,
‘the court rescrves the right fo assign unused portions of this row to members of the media,
4, The third and fourth rows on the south side of the courtroom are reserved for members
of the media, No media organization may have more than one representative in this section. The
term “media” is defined by Practice Book § 1-10 as “any person or entity that is regularly
‘engaged in the gathering and dissemination of news and thet is approved by the office of the
chief court administrator.” Members of the media sitting in the designated media section may

receive tickets and keep their seats for the entirety of the day in question. ?
5, The remaining seats in the courtroom are available 1o members of the public (including
members of both families and the media) on a first-come first-serve basis,
6. Pursuant to the court's eatlier memorandum of decision regarding the use of electronic
devices, the use of electronic devices is permitted unless found to be “disruptive of the court
proceeding,” Practice Book § 1-10(a). If disruption occurs, the court will take appropriate action. |
7.No televising, recording, or photographing is permitted in the courtroom, Practice |
Book § 1-11(b)?
8, Cellular telephones must be tumed off or on silent mode,
9, Full exhibits will be made available to the media via listserv, The court reserves the |
right to make exceptions to this rule in appropriate cases.
The court reserves the right to amend this onder when appropriate.

' The media is free to develop its own seating plan for the media section. The media will
be entirely responsible for any plan so devised. Neither the court nor its staff will mediate any
disputes arising with respect to such a plan.
? Requests to televise, record, or photograph elsewhere within the courthouse must be
made to the Administrative judge.
