Audience research update

We decided to do an update to our previous questionnaire, as you

can see we done a more professional questionnaire with results and
pie charts to see how much have things changed. Also its more
simple to show to the audience through a pie charts as its more
easier to see how figures changed on different questions.

From the 30 participants surveyed, the 3 most preferred sub-genres

were
Psychological thrillers (12), Horror thriller (5) and Crime Thriller (4).
This could give us
an idea to perhaps merge all three categories together or have
elements of Horror
and Crime in a Psychological thriller movie

The results for this question were close as ‘Plot’ was chosen as the most
important element, followed by ‘Setting’, thereafter ‘Special Effects’ and lastly
‘Acting’. Our main priority therefore will be to succeed in creating a good plot
and choose a suitable setting.
From the 30 participants surveyed, 16 had chosen ‘Storyline’ as
their appeal to
Thrillers and coming in second was ‘Interesting Title’. As we cannot
provide well-
known actors/actresses and directors for obvious reasons, we would
have to use our
own sources. Expectations therefore for a good storyline and
interesting title are high,
we will have to excel ourselves in order to make this thriller as
appealing to our
chosen demographic as possible

From the results, ‘Camera Angles’ (9) was chosen to be the suspense builder
in a film, followed by ‘Lighting’ and ‘Sound’ (6). Although we will include all five
elements in the making of our thriller as they are all equally important in
making a suspense filled film. In consideration of what the participants of this
survey had chosen the choice of ‘Camera Angles’ will be carefully decided
upon
In terms of the opening of a Thriller, 16 people had said they think
‘as little as
possible’ of the plot should be revealed. 3 people had said ‘as much
as
possible’ should be revealed, and 11 people had said ‘not at all’.
