JAA A320 / B737 TYPE RATING + FIRST OFFICER LINE TRAINING

Airlines worldwide require pilots to have several hundred hours of experience on type to secure employment. These
programs give JAA Frozen ATPL qualified pilots the opportunity to receive a JAA A320 or B737 type rating combined with the
first officer line experience on type the airlines are looking for in a cost effective manner.

PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS:
ƒ European citizenship
ƒ JAA Frozen ATPL
ƒ MCC (can be included/added to the type rating course if not previously completed)
ƒ First class medical
ƒ No minimum flight time requirement

Pilots choose one of the following 4 options:

TYPE RATING COURSE PROVIDED BY NON AIRLINE TRTO &
LINE TRAINING (500 HOUR OPTION for B737 NG & 300 / 500 HOUR OPTIONS for A320) PROVIDED BY AIRLINE

1. B737 NG Option: see “JAA B737 NG Type Rating + Line Training Program” information page.

2. A320 Option: see “JAA A320 Type Rating + Line Training Program” information page.

Main Advantages:
ƒ Average gap of 3 to 9 weeks between completion of type rating course and start of line training (or longer period of
time if preferred) which might be of interest for pilots trying to secure employment with only a type rating and no
experience on type.

ƒ Flexibility: type rating and line training are independent and pilots do not need to commit and make corresponding
payment for line training until they are ready to join this phase of the program.

TYPE RATING COURSE & LINE TRAINING (100 HOUR OPTION)

PROVIDED BY THE SAME JAA AIRLINE

3. A320 Option: see “JAA Airline A320 Type Rating + First Officer Line Training” information page.

4. ERJ 190 Option: see “JAA Airline ERJ 190 Type Rating + First Officer Line Training” information page.

Main Advantages:
ƒ Whole training provided by JAA airline: pilots are trained from day one of the type rating course by reputable JAA
airlines they will fly on line with.

ƒ No or little gap between completion of type rating course and start of line training.

 Support documents are provided by the airline so pilots can obtain the required visa with corresponding embassy.

 One uniform set is provided by the airline.

 Should simulator training take place away from the full time base, pilots are provided with round trip airfare, hotel room and transportation.

 Pilots legally commit to complete a 12 month line training program (including a minimum of 500 hours as a right seat B737 NG first officer) starting
on the date of the first flight on line from the right seat except if pilots accept the guaranteed employment offer which is made by the partner airline
immediately upon completion of the 500 hours of line training in which case pilots enter into a 12 month B737 NG employment contract with free
