ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE

Artificial Intelligence (A.I.) is the intelligence of machines and the

branch of computer science that aims to create it.
The field was founded on the claim that a central property of humans,
intelligence, can be so precisely described that it can be simulated by a
machine.
A.I. has been the subject of optimism, but has also suffered setbacks
and, today, has become an essential part of the technology industry,
providing the “heavy lifting” for many of the most difficult problems in
computer science.
A.I. , these days, is highly technical and specialized, deeply divided into
subfields.
A.I. systems hold real importance in modern society and researchers are
striving to improve them further.
The 1990’s were very important years in A.I. development. Major
advances in all areas of A.I., with significant demonstrations in machine
learning, intelligent tutoring, case-based reasoning, multi-agent planning and
others were made.
Since the year 2000, the most important A.I. systems became
commercially available: interactive robots. They have since been used in
different domains such as physics and astrophysics ( the Nomad robot) , in
the assembly of different machines such as cars and many other domains.
Nowadays, A.I. is an important thing in every day life as we are always
surrounded by different self-thinking machines.
