PROJECT GOAL

To provide interactive and easy access to the user for determination of bus routes
online.
ABSTRACT
This report describes the usage of Java as a platform to build
Client-Server
applications and presents as an example a Online Bus Route
Determination the client can use to determine and identify the
bus routes from source to destination.

 BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE PROJECT

With the advancement in the field of information technology

some of the tedious tasks have become simpler. Nowadays,
Websites on the internet provide the user with some of the
valuable information. One can find the feasible routes from the
source to the destination and query on the basis of various
parameters to obtain useful data. The necessity to find the route
to the destination led us to development of the website through
which one is able to scan the various possible routes to the
destination. Also , to provide ease in the issue of bus pass the
website is developed.

The Transport Department Website i a J.S.P application that

will be used to store the route data in the database and process
the querries regarding bus routes and also some user specific
information. JavaServer Pages (JSP) is a technology based on the
Java language and enables the development of dynamic web
sites. JSP was developed by Sun Microsystems to allow server side
development. JSP files are HTML files with special Tags containing
Java source code that provide the dynamic content. The website
can dipaly the bus routes from a given source to a specified
destination. It can also give information about the speciality of
buses (eg. A.C or Non A.C , Women’s Special). The major
significance of the project is that it allows to determine the bus
routes online with ease and simplicity.

SUMMARY
The website provides an interactive interface to the Commuters
for determining the bus routes and various other special features
like information regarding women-special and bus type.
