PRACTICAL INTRODUCTION

 A photogrammetric instrument which uses electronics, motors, and lenses to view two
overlapping aerial photos in 3-D. The stereoplotter corrects for distortions caused by
rotations in the camera and relief displacement. This allows the operator to view the
stereo model in a binocular viewing system and make measurements based on the
ground coordinate system.

OBJECTIVE

 To identify the function and use tools of analytical photogrammetry plotter and
photogrammetry stereo plotter and their functions.

 Indentify the components of tools and methods for using them to perform a
photogrammetry work.

 Also know to handle or set up the a Analytical Photogrammetry Plotter and

Photogrammetry Stereo Plotter.

 Therefore able to explain to someone how to use this equipment.

PHOTOGRAMMETRIC ANALYTICAL STEREOPLOTTER

Photogrammetry definition of Analytical Stereoplotter

A photogrammetric instrument which uses electronics, motors, and lenses to view two
overlapping aerial photos in 3-D. The stereoplotter corrects for distortions caused by rotations in
the camera and relief displacement. This allows the operator to view the stereo model in a
binocular viewing system and make measurements based on the ground coordinate system.

Operator Controls

Various control options are available for use with all of our mapping products. Use handwheels,
a footdisk, and footswitches along with the standard Joystick Control Panniers. The
Control Panniers allow for fast movement across a model, then the detailed digitising can be

4
done with the conventional handwheels. For those without the traditional skills, the speed
adjustable Joysticks may be all you need. All controls are compatible with each other and can
be combined to suit your needs.

5
The component and function of plotter.

Function :

The active area of the digitizer is limited to the area covered by the clear plastic sheet. The xy
mation contour you need to make sure that you get a smooth continuation.

Use the speed control knob on the pannier to set the desired sensitivity of the 3d.

ABC SWITCH

Function : Switch for operating mechine.

6
3D Hand controller Tablet

Function:

1. Use to control the pg 2 conversion in xy and z

2. The xy direction is controlled by pushing the 3D hand controlled over the tablet.
3. Height (Z) is controlled with the thumbwheel.
4. The buttons 1,2,3, have some function as fs.si the xy movement of the 3d hands
controlled like a clutch .
5. If the ratio of xy movement and z movement is not acceptable, use the speed settings in
the software to select suitable sensitivities.

X-Y JOYSTICK

Function :

The joystick on the pannier is used to control the promap in the xy direction. The further you
push the joystick the faster the floating mark travels.

The component and function of plotter.

7
Hand wheels

 Hand wheels are use to control the machine in the xy direction.

 The left hand wheels controls the x –direction, the right hand wheel the y-direction.
 Use the speed control knob to set the desired sensitivity.
 The resistance of the hand wheels is adjustable. There are 2small grub screws 180
degrees offset on the outer diameter the hand wheels. You will need a 1.5mm allen key.
Tighten the grub screws alternately by no that a quarter turn at a time and test.

Foot Disk

 The foot disk is used to drive the floating mark up and down, the height in aerial modals.
 Turn the foot disk counter clock-wise and the floating mark will rise, turn at clock wise
and the dot will move downwards

Foot Switch

 The footswitch has 2 switches built in, the right side is the FS switch and the left side is
the SI switch. These operate in parallel with the switches on the pannier.
 You can use the footswitch or the pannier switches, whatever is more convenient.
 The SI switches on footswitch works the same as the SI switch on the pannier.
 The FS switch is used for digitizing. There is no locking position, to do a contour simply
hold down the switch witch with your foot during digitizing of the contour.

Workstation Desk

 The desk need to be range and strong enough preferably the specially designed ADAM
Workstation desk (OPTIONAL)
 Prefer to use your own desk, ensure that is strong enough.
 If desk worps and move, it will need to improved. Add re-inforcement and additional
braces to strengthen it. The surface of the desk should be no less that 1.2 m wide.

Computer Cabling

8
 Use multi core flexible shield cable.
 The frame ground should be connected as well as one end of the shield or drain wire.
 To prevent accidental disconnection the screws supplied with the D connector should be
screwed to the panels.
 Some video monitors can generated serve high-frequency electrical noise therefore
cables to video monitor should be the type and have a ferrite block suppressor attached
to the computer and of the cabels.

Result Overview of Work

 From the practical that has been done, we found that photogrammetry work by using the
tools all work in connection therewith can be easily solved.
 Many advantages which we can use this tool compared to conventional.
