DISPLACEMENT – TIME GRAPH


Velocity is obtained from the
gradient of the graph.
A – B : gradient of the graph is
+ve and constant ∴ velocity is
constant.
B – C : gradient of the graph =
0 ∴ the velocity = 0, object at
rest.
C – D : gradient of the graph –
ve and constant. The velocity
is negative and object moves
in the opposite direction.

displacement
Positive = Constant
gradient Acceleration(A – B)

Negative = Constant
gradient Deceleration (C – D)

Zero gradient = Constant
