computer. being exceeded, followed by a drop in oil pressure
causing damage to the engine very quickly.
As the automatic transmission is lubricated under
pressure, it is only activated when the engine is
running.

Consequently, and to avoid serious damage, it is

essential to comply with the following instructions:

– never allow the vehicle to move with the ignition

switched off (i.e. when going down a hill), we cannot
underestimate the damage that this may cause,

– never push the vehicle (i.e. to reach a petrol station,

except when following the precautions in the
"Towing" section).

In addition, the vehicle can only be driven if the engine

is running. It is therefore impossible to start the engine
of a vehicle with automatic transmission by pushing
the vehicle.

Monitor the transmission oil temperature parameter.

The check should be carried out when the oil

temperature is between 60˚C and 80˚C.

Start the engine and put the lever in D.

Monitor the engine speed parameter:

Enter dialogue with the computer.

Accelerate fully keeping the brakes on.

The front wheels should not rotate.

IMPORTANT: Full load should not be maintained for

more than 5 seconds. Beyond this, there is a high
risk of destroying the converter or the automatic
transmission.

IMPORTANT: Once the measurement has been taken,

release the accelerator and keep the brakes applied
until the engine speed is stabilised at idle speed
(risk of damage to the automatic transmission if this is
not done).

The engine speed should stabilise at:

K4M 711 → 2400 ± 150 rpm.
F4P 711 → 2300 ± 150 rpm.
L7X 731 → 2820 ± 150 rpm.

A setting point outside the tolerance requires the

converter to be replaced.

NOTE: a setting point which is too low may be

associated with a lack of engine power.

must be programmed by applying the following procedure:

– Shift the selector lever to P or N and keep the engine switched off.

CLIP:

– Enter dialogue with the automatic transmission computer,

– Select the relevant command.

NXR:

– Enter dialogue with the automatic transmission computer,

– Select the No load - Full load position command.

Procedure for resetting the automatic transmission oil ageing level.

The automatic transmission oil ageing value from the computer to be replaced must be entered in the new computer
when the automatic transmission computer is replaced. Use the following procedure:

CLIP:

– Enter dialogue with the automatic transmission computer,

– Select the relevant command.

NXR:

– From the memory of the computer to be replaced, read the oil ageing value using the "Read oil counter" command.
– Replace the computer.
– Enter the oil ageing value in the memory of the new computer using the "Write oil counter" command.
– Check that it has been entered using the "Read oil counter" command.
