Topic: Civil Rights

Thesis:
Following the American Civil War and the freeing of the slaves, the African
Americans were not immediately grafted into the American society. The situation
between the African Americans and the whites had been getting progressively worse for
nearly a century. Many activists offered different solutions to the rising problem, among
these were Booker T. Washington, W.E.B. Du Bois, Ida B. Wells, and Martin Luther
King Jr. In this current time, however, the roles have begun to switch and the white
population has begun to feel some inequality in society.
