    Rani Avanti Bai Lodhi Sagar (RABLS) Project is major project situated on river Narmada in Jabalpur Distt.
    The project comprises of 5.38 km. long Earthen and Masonry Dam across river Narmada near village Bargi in
    Jabalpur distt. and 90 MW River Bed Power House and 137 Km. long Left Bank Main Canal (LBMC).

    Administrative Approval.

    Revised administrative approval of Rs. 566.34 Cr. Was accorded in year 1992 with unit wise cost as under:

    Note on Unit- I Dam:

    The RABLS Dam site is located at a distance of 1 Km. from village Bargi on National Highway- 7.
    The construction of Dam was started in year 1971 and the work could be completed in year 1988-89. The dam was
    first filled up to FRL in year 1990. Some of the striking features of the dam arc:
    1- Name of River : Narmada
    2- Distance from Jabalpur : 43.20 Km.
    3- Length of Earthen Dam : 4.56 Km.
    4- Maximum height of car then Dam : 29.26 Km.
    5- Length of Masonry Dam : 00.82 Km.
    6- Maximum height of masonry dam : 69.50 Km.
    7- Nos. of Gates in the dam. : 21 Nos.
    Reservoir capacity : 3920 M.CuM

    Total No of village under submergence : 162

    Submergence at FRL

    Private land : 15772 Ha.


    Govt. land : 3447 Ha.
    Forest Land : 8478 Ha.

    Note on Unit - II canal

    The canal system of RABLS Project has been proposed to irrigate 157000 Ha. land in Jabalpur and
    Narsinghpur Distt. Some of the features of the canal system are indicated below.

    Gross command area (GCA) : 254400 Ha.


    Irrigation : 157000 Ha.
    Annual Irrigation from LBMC : 210900 Ha.

    Total length of LBC : 135.50 Ha.


    Head discharge : 124.60 cum/Sec.

    Designed Irrigation : 157000 Ha.


    : Jabalpur Distt. 62000 Ha.
    : Narsinghpur Distt 95000 Ha.
    Annual Irrigation : 219800 Ha.

    Up to October 2007, 117 Km. of main Canal, 200 Km of branch canal and distributaries & 1150 Km. of
    Minors have been completed along with structures and potential of 133198 Ha. has been created. The construction work
    of Canal system is in progress & additional Potential of 21884 will be created during year 2007-08.
