    The Board of Directors of Micanopy Area Charter School met on November 18, 2009. John Eubanks, Beth Allerton, and Robert Cox were present, while Jim Walkup was absent but submitted his proxy vote. The board approved the agenda and previous meeting's minutes. There were no public comments. Reports were given on staff, grants, committees, finances, curriculum, facilities, community involvement, the School Advisory Committee, and the Parent Teacher Organization. The board discussed possible changes to their meeting day and heard a presentation will be given in December by the Alachua County Sheriff's Department. Beth Allerton will also provide information on an online safety course for students at the next meeting. The meeting adjourned at 6

    THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF MICANOPY AREA CHARTER SCHOOL MINUTES OF

    REGULAR BOARD MEETING


    November 18, 2009

    The Board of Directors of Micanopy Area Charter School met at 6:00 pm in the Landry Building at
    Micanopy Area Cooperative School, Micanopy, FL. Present were John Eubanks, Beth Allerton, and
    Robert Cox. Jim Walkup was absent, excused, and submitted his proxy vote approving the agenda for
    November 18, 2009 and the minutes of the meeting on October 21, 2009.

    The meeting was called to order at 6:12 by Beth Allerton.

    AGENDA APPROVAL Motion by J. Eubanks Seconded by R. Cox

    Moved to adopt the agenda for the meeting of November 18, 2009.

    Upon Vote: 4-0

    APPROVAL OF MINUTES Motion by J. Eubanks Seconded by B. Allerton

    Moved to approve minutes of Board Meeting for October 21, 2009.

    Upon Vote: Motion passed 4-0.

    PUBLIC INPUT None

    REPORTS Staff – See attached


    Grants – Friends of the Library grant was denied.
    Committees
    Human Resources –None
    Finances – Title 1 funds related to SIP have been released and we
    have submitted requests for reimbursement.
    Curriculum – None
    Facilities – None.
    Community Involvement – Fall Festival went very well. Light Up
    Micanopy is Sat., Nov. 12 at 5:30
    SAC – Held meeting today.
    PTO – Baffles purchased were installed today.
    Publicity - None

    CONSENT AGENDA None

    ITEMS OF DISCUSSION Members discussed possible meeting days of the week. Beth
    Allerton suggested the second Monday of the month.

    Motion by: J. Eubanks Seconded by: B. Allerton

    Moved to change meeting date to second Monday of the month


    with the understanding the action will not be effective until the two
    readings of the Board By-Laws reflecting the change have been
    done.

    Upon vote: 3-0

    The members discussed the presentation that will be made by the


    Alachua County Sheriff’s Dept at the December board meeting.

    Beth Allerton will provide information on an online safety course


    for students at the December meeting.

    ADJOURNMENT The meeting was adjourned at 6:40 p.m.
