A Guide to Exploring the
Wild World of Fabrics
Praise for One-Yard
T he authors of best-seller One-Yard Wonders are back with a
fresh collection of sewing projects contributed by sewing
bloggers and designers across North America: Fabric-by-Fabric Wonders
One-Yard Wonders. This time, Rebecca Yaker and Patricia Hosk-
ins show how to take full advantage of all the enticing, often
unfamiliar new fabrics on the market — one yard at a time.
Knits, wool, voiles, quilting cottons, corduroy, flannel, fleece,
oilcloth, home dec, faux fur, coated cotton . . . the sheer
variety of fabrics available now to home sewers is exciting
yet daunting. Each type has its own distinctive features and
rules. Just how do you iron corduroy without crushing the
pile? And what do you do with oilcloth, anyway?
Like the fabrics themselves, this lively guide gets sewers’
creative juices flowing.
