I supported the Financial Operations department by opening, stamping the receive
d date, and distributing mail for the department, I opened all of the patients b
ills that had been returned undeliverable, stamped date received, and alphabetiz
ed them (to eliminate repeated calls to customers). I then called each customer
in an attempt to obtain corrected addresses. I also answered a telephone with si
x lines, and directed calls as appropriate, and I handled many simple inquires f
rom customers regarding their accounts. I greeted and announced internal custome
rs in our department.

Upon patient discharge from the hospital, all charts would be brought to the Med
ical Records department. My duties were to take stickers off of the binders, rem
ove all documents from binders, create a paper medical record folder by placing
numerical stickers on each folder corresponding to the patients Medical Record n
umber, current year, and episode number. I would then organize all documents, as
directed by supervisor
