Introduction to Electricity

Electricity

• it is a from of energy generated by friction, induction or chemical

change having magnetic, chemical and radiant effect.

• It is one of the most useful discoveries of man which pave the way
to numerous inventions from simple tool to the most sophisticated
gadget.

• In contrary to some belief, it is not new, perhaps it has been here

and it’s existence is as old as the universe.
Electricity

It has been the property of the basic particles of matter like an atom,
which consist of;

Electron It is the negatively particle of an atom which is

sometimes referred to as the negative charge of
electricity.

It is the positively charged particle of an atom which is

Proton sometimes referred to as the positive charge of
electricity that weigh .

It is the particle of an atom which is not electrically

Neutron charged which weigh slightly more than proton.
Electric Circuit

A simple electric circuit consists of a voltage source, some type of load,

and conductors to allow electrons to flow between the voltage source and
the load.
