Intro This essay is about the last year of CKV lessons. Things that I liked, disliked and learned. CKV is an abbreviat ion for culturele en kunstzinnige vorming . CKV is taught in the fourth year of the secondary schools. CKV is a class that introduces the students to various types of art and culture. E very student that had CKV gets a CJP card. With this card you could get discount on a lot of museums and cultural projects. I have used this CJP a lot of times. Like when I go to the movies or visit museums.

Beginning The first day that I had CKV I wasn t that excited, because I had heard rumors of other students that CKV is a boring class. At home I was already looking in the CKV books, I thought there where interesting things in it.

When I first entered the classroom, I saw our new teacher. He introduced himself as Mr. Barry van Druten. I have never had a lesson or standby of Barry. It turned out to be an okay teacher, I didn t have any problems with him nor did he with me.

The first lesson we talked about what is CKV and what is art. When we were talking about art he gave us an assignment. We had to answer 5 questions about art and make 5 questions of our own about art. That day he also told us about the blog. He said everyt hing you do this year for CKV should be put on your blog. The blog was for easy access for teacher and student. The blog

is very important because the work on it will be graded for your final school report. In the first period of the year I really had put effort into updating the blog.

My work The part year we had to make 6 reports, a visual project and an interview. All these things had to be uploaded on the blog.

Report Seinzefriction My first report is about Seinzefriction. Seinzefriction is a clothing line started by myself, Shaquell and Amy. We started in the summer 2010. Now we are well know among our friends. The business stopped for a while because of out school, but we have big plans for the future.

Report Memoirs of a geisha Second report is about the movie memoirs of a geisha . I really like this movie because of its acting and story, it belongs in the top 10 of my favorite movies all time. I was really pulled into the movie when I was watching it. This movie has won many awards including several Oscars and Golden Globe awards.

Interview Kamsing I first had to make 25 questions for the interview. Gideon and me had already planned to interview my father. My father is the owner and chef at Kamdo

Chinese-indo restaurant . He has been the owner for 21 years now and its still very successful.

Report Cosima von Bonin My third report is about cosima von bonin. We went to the Witte de with to see her exposition. At the exposition there was art with a meaning behind it. I thought the art that was displayed was very emotional. Report The Green hornet

My fourth report was about the movie The Green hornet . I really enjoyed this movie and chose it because of its comedy and action. This was one of the first IMAX 3D I have seen. I also liked it because there was a famous Asian playing the main character. The movie reminds me off the legendary Bruce Lee movies.

Visual project design and build your own dream house We could choose a project out of the cards that Barry gave us or we could think up one our self. I looked through the cards and saw a project about designing you own dream house. I liked this one because I want to be an architect when I grow up. So I first began drawing the house and after th at I build it with cardboard.

Report AutoRAI

My fifth report is about the AutoRAI. The AutoRAI is an event held in the Amsterdam RAI. It s the biggest car show in the Benelux. I like cars especially Japanese cars like Nissan, Subaru and Mitshibishu. I al so like motorbikes, like the sports motorbikes Yamaha and Suzuki. I learned a lot about cars at this event.

Report Subaru Impreza My final report is about Subaru. I ve chosen this subject because, I always wanted a Subaru WRX Impreza. This is my future dream car. I find this car so amazing of its power and looks. First time I have been in this car was when I was 12 I was immediately in love with the WRX Impreza.

What I have learned the past year I have learned a lot this year with CKV. Especially with report making, there was a lot of information in the book about how to write a report about almost anything. I have also learned about that there are more meanings behind art. I learned how to observe the art and tell the story that s behind it. CKV taught me a whole way to observe art.

My opinion I did not expected to learn so much with CKV, in the beginning I was amused by the culture and arts. I found this class very open, you could go do something fun and write a report about it, that s why I liked it more and

more. The visits to the Witte de With and the Cosima von Bonin weren t that appealing to me. I found those two rather boring.
