Robyn Clay EDrama 202 Winter 2011 Vocal Warm-up: The Music Box

Students stand or sit in a circle, heads down, and eyes closed. One student will begin making a repetitive sound, such as la la la. The student continues making the sound as the other students join in at random with their own sounds, until the room is lled with sound. (Similarly, the teacher could start by making a repetitive sound and have the students join in at random.) When the music box reaches its peak, the rst person winds down and stops, and the rest of the group fades out until it is silent again.
