Introduction to AUTODYN
Welcome!
Welcome to the ANSYS AUTODYN training course! This training course is intended for all new or occasional ANSYS AUTODYN users, regardless of the CAD software used
Training Manual
Course Objectives: Introduction to ANSYS AUTODYN Detailed understanding of how to set up, solve and post-process AUTODYN analyses Detailed understanding of how ANSYS Workbench (in particular, Explicit Dynamics) and ANSYS AUTODYN can be used for combined solutions Training Courses are also available covering the detailed use of other Workbench modules (e.g. DesignModeler, Meshing, Advanced meshing, etc.) The ANSYS Explicit Dynamics Training Course is a pre-requisite for this course

Discretization
AUTODYN solutions are discretized in time and space Spatial Discretization
Training Manual
Components are meshed into a (large) number of smaller elements (cells) or particles Structured meshes (2D and 3D) Unstructured meshes (3D) Mesh free particles (2D and 3D) Temporal Discretization Time is split into a (large) number of small time steps (cycles) Except for Euler sub-cycling, the time steps are the same for all Solvers The time steps must satisfy stability criteria
