JOB DESCRIPTION FOR ENGINEER SWITCHING CORE South / SYED IMRAN HUSSAIN - ENGR

JOB OVERVIEW Engineer Switching Core is responsible for the overall Operation & Maintenance work of C-5 Soft switch, DTE-B& STP-A switches within the assigned area. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES Conducts Ops & Mtce of Assigned Switches - Performs Technical configuration, operation & maintenance of switches within the region. - Works on Database creation for Routing, Code point, zoning and Trunk Group. -Carries out implementation and analysis of Numbering series and levels. -Traffic measurement & traffic analysis . -STP data base management. -Traffic analysis & links load management of STP Monitors System Alarms - Performs analysis of various system alarms within the exchange to resolve any issue as and when it arises. -Alarms monitoring at IP links. Incorporates Tariff Plans & other services - Implements different Tariff plans for different switching times - Handles allocation activation and verification of E1 s with OLO s, CMO s, LDI s Routing of SCP-IN created PPT,PPC,PRS (0900)and Toll free service (0800) HR Management Manage HR related issues of engineering supervisors and telecom technicians. Help fellows about the soft switch . QUALIFICATIONS/COMPETENCIES Education: Advanced degree in Engineering Expertise: Extensive experience in relevant field. Other skills:

KPIs Availability of Core switching Network. Improvement of high loss sections of switching. Restore the network within stipulated time. Ensure protection of switches vulnerable to environmental condition. Reduction of faults through proactive maintenance. Inspection of the total switches sites & switches sections.
