    Past simple

    When to use Past Simple?


    1. This tense is used for narration (news, historical documents, in fiction) The British Prime Minister arrived in London yesterday.

    2. This tense is used for regular actions in the past In summer I saw my friend Nick everyday. 3. This tense is used for serial actions I left my apartment, took a taxi and drove to the party. 4. This tense denotes an action that carried out prior to the time of speaking with expressions like last week, last month, a minute ago, a month ago, yesterday, in the morning, on Monday, the other day, at five a.m., and so on I spoke to him in the morning.
