Conclusion

It is frequently observed that oil is spilled over the surface of water/sea water. This causes enormous loss to the life of creatures living in sea water. Efforts were made to develop a skimmer to wipe out the spilled oil from the water-surface. The oil skimmer contained a powered boat carrying a skimming unit, Oil is soaked by the specially designed foam that is attached to a conveyor belt. The belt is lowered in water-front containing spilled oil , At the rear end of the conveyor oil is squeezed out from the soaked foam .The squeezed oil is stored in a container only to be emptied out of the sea zone. The conveyor is driven by solar powered motor through appropriate chain sprocket drive. The process of cleaning oil from the surface of sea/lake water is carried over to ease- out marine lives.
