Cervical nerve damage is any damage to the nerves in the cervical region of the spine, which includes the

neck. There are a few telltale symptoms that can help indicate cervical nerve damage.

Pain and Discomfort


1. As with any sort of nerve damage, you'll more than likely begin to suffer some pain and discomfort. This may be dull or shooting in nature, but will generally take place in the neck, shoulders and arms. In some cases, this pain may also spread down into your chest.

Numbness
2. More often than not, nerve damage to the cervical region of the spine will also bring about numbness. Much like the pain, the numbness may show up in the neck, shoulders and arms, as well as the hands and fingers.

Lack of Coordination
3. This particular kind of nerve damage has been known to affect coordination in the fingers and hands.

Tingling
4. Many people who suffer cervical nerve damage experience a tingling or prickling sensation in the hands.

Weakness
5. Most nerve damage, including in the cervical region of the spine, can prompt a certain amount of weakness. This weakness will generally affect your arms and hands.
