V.P.

M = myocardium which is both contractile and secretes cardiac jelly. Jelly is deformable and squeezes endocardium (en) which moves blood along. In some places there is extra jelly (cushions). Cushions behave in a valve like fashion.

HEART TUBE CHANGES SHAPE

VENOUS END OF HEART

Near the heart

Right-sided veins persist Eg: right cardinal vein forms Sup Vena Cava Eg: right vitelline vein forms Inf Vena Cava near the heart

Right atrium has a dual origin

Rough part (musculi pectinati) from the primitive atrium Smooth part (no musculi) from the sinus venosus

Black =pulmonary veins Blue = primitive atrium + primary (primitive) pulmonary vein Blue = Left Atrium

Left atrium has a dual origin

Most is smooth and derived from pulmonary veins The small rough walled atrial appendage is from the primitive atrium

SEPARATIONS OF RIGHT FROM LEFT ATRIUM

TWO WALLS FUSE. Foramen Ovale

Fossa Ovalis

Floor of fossa is septum primum
