If you are writing to provide new passport details please be advised that your details will soon be updated into departmental systems or they will be updated upon arrival to Australia. Please refer to the Maritime Crew Visa website (links below) if you wish to check the status of an application, obtain a copy of the visa grant letter, or confirm if a person holds a Maritime Crew Visa. Please accept the following as a response to these enquiries - on the website you can: check the status of an application by accessing the departments Online Visa Enquiry Facility. You will need to enter the applicant's Transaction Reference Number (TRN), date of birth, passport number and country of passport. view or print a visa grant letter by accessing the departments Online Visa Enquiry Facility. You will need to enter the applicant's Transaction Reference Number (TRN), date of birth, passport number and country of passport. Once you are at the Application Status page, click on the link Applicant Approved to view and print the grant letter. check if a crew member currently holds a Maritime Crew Visa by accessing the department's MCV Status Query Facility. You will need to enter the applicant's date of birth, passport number and country of passport. If a new passport is held, you may need to enter the details of the old passport. If this does not address your enquiry we will make every effort to respond further to your email within three working days. However, if you have not provided sufficient information to identify the Maritime Crew Visa application/s to which your query relates we may not be able to respond to your email. All requests for additional information in relation to the Maritime Crew Visa application will be sent to the preferred contact details identified in the application form. To assist with identification please include the applicants Given Name, Family Name, Date of Birth and, where available, the Transaction Reference Number (TRN), when communicating with the Department. Maritime Crew Visa applications that are submitted electronically are usually finalised within three days. In some instances applications may need to be referred to an Australian Immigration Office for further

processing. In this case applications may take more than two weeks to finalise. Notification will be sent to the contact provided in the application when processing is finalised.
