Business Finance

Summary

In the 3rd Lecture of the course named Business Finance, first we were given a rough
idea about different forms of Share Capital. Then we learned about how Shares are
issued, there are two methods of issuing shares Lump sum Basis in which a
complete payment consisting of a single sum of money is deposited for shares and
secondly Shares are issued on installment basis in which a part of the whole
payment is paid in monthly, yearly etc basis. Afterwards we were taught about the
two types of shares i.e. ordinary share capital and preference share capital.

In the 4th Lecture we were told about the characteristics of preference shares
namely Accumulative or Non Accumulative, Participative or Non Participative,
Redeemable or Non Redeemable, Convertible or Non Convertible and Voting Rights.
Another important concept was what are Debts and the difference between
Preference Shares and Debentures. As Sir gave a rough idea about the forms of
Share Capital in the 3rd Lecture, we were briefly explained about the Forms of Share
Capital in the last half hour of the 4th Lecture.
