This document provides process to setup Alarm Notification Feature: netsend for
Medalist Quality Tool.

I. Setup Alarm Notification Feature on Medalist Quality Tool
PC

1. Create <alarmconf> folder in Medalist Quality Tool’s bin folder

2. Copy the required setup file to Medalist Quality Tool’s alarmconf folder
3. List of setup file are: hosts.txt, readme.txt and run.bat

4. Use Text editor to open <hosts.txt> file
5. Enter the hostname of the target PC
6. Save and close the <hosts.txt> file

• Note: Target PC will receive the message from the Medalist Quality Tool client
PC

II. Start the Messenger Service on Quality Tool PC and
Target PC

1. Navigate to Control Panel

2. Double Click on the <Administrative Tools>

3. Double on the Service icon,

4. Right Click on the Messenger shown as highlighted below

5. Change the Startup type to Automatic (Box in Red)

6. Click on the <Start> button and <OK> button

7. Verified that <Messenger> Service is started and set to Automatic as shown
below

III. Start Quality Tool and Set alarm threshold limit

1. Click on the Quality Tool Shortcut,

2. Click on <Chart options>

3. Set the Alarm threshold limits

4. Once the value exceed the limits, the Alarm would appear at the Quality Tool
as shown

5. Messenger dialog on target PC as shown below
